Overview:

Responsible for designing, developing and delivering creative content for the Amerigroup website, combining new technology with creative innovations. The senior web developer functions as a Communications liaison to the eHealth department and relevant company business owners, helping to meet strategic initiatives by creating and managing web content that is consistent with Company branding, messaging, new web product operating models, and/or existing operating models, in order to meet emerging industry needs and/or state requirements. Works as Lead with Multimedia Communications web designers and writers developing, coding and implementing web products. Manages the process of innovation, working under changing demands and tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintains and enhances development of external web portals.
2. Conceptualizes and develops new content ideas.
3. Liaises with relevant company business owners in the creation and maintenance of creative content and web campaigns across all web portals.
4. Creates HTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for Company website.
5. Creates well designed, usable objects.
6. Demonstrates expert knowledge of the following program languages: HTML, Java, PHP, Perl, ASP and .NET.
7. Demonstrated experience with Flash video/animation.
8. Possesses demonstrated work experience with more than one relational database management system.
9. Understands browser specific compatibility issues.
10.
Ensures existing web applications and internal systems are integrated.

Communicates and enforces coding standards.

12.
Prepared to perform testing of web applications, unit and system.

13.
Ensures online content complies with all corporate standards and meets appropriate ADA, state specified guidelines and regulatory requirements.

14.
Consistently delivers high-quality content for each web site portal and related business owners.

15.
Possesses significant knowledge of client server and internet system architectures.

16.
Conducts administrative activity, including but not limited to, debrief meetings, server organizations, surveys, and data retention.

17.
Participates in opportunity analyses and prepares recommendations to the SVP of Communications for web site related workgroups.

18.
Contributes to Communications department process improvements and efficiencies.

19.
Provides leadership, training, and mentoring of content and page development for Communications staff as needed.

20.
Serves as a working member of the intranet (SharePoint) governance structure, leads sub-committees and serves on advisory boards when necessary.

21.
Performs special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education

Required:

- Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Multimedia Communications, MIS or other related experience

Years and Type of Experience Required:

Required:

- A minimum of five years experience in web design/development, programming, multimedia or related

Specific Technical Skills

Required:

- Excellent visual and verbal communications skills;
- Expert knowledge of the following program languages: HTML, Java, PHP, Perl, ASP and .NET.;
- Demonstrated knowledge of Flash video/animation;
- Knowledge of web design, desktop publishing, photo and video imaging;
- Demonstrated ability to manage a complex workload, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, perform under pressure, and use good judgment in providing guidance and leadership regarding web applications, site management and utilization;
- Uses a solutions-driven implementation approach to recognizing web portal system deficiencies and suggest areas for improvement along with possible solutions;
- Strong working knowledge of online, multimedia and emerging technologies;
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills;

Preferred:

- Familiarity with SharePoint software

Other (Computer/Software):

Required:

- Demonstrated expert knowledge in the use and application of: Flash, HTML, Java, PHP, Perl, ASP and .NET
- Expert knowledge of Contact Management systems, database software, internet software, MAC and Microsoft software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work with and lead associates of all levels;
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
